Yuriko Damiani

Yuriko Damiani was born in Rome to a japanese mother, painter and teacher of porcelain decoration and to italian father, a profound expert of the japanese culture.

In 1999 she founded the DCube chain retail furniture shops which became soon a point of reference for the design in Italy. Il was fundamental for her artistic career, the extraordinary work experience in 1997 at the Yoshinobu Ashihara Architect’s Studio in Tokyo, contributing to the project of the Kanazawa’s Symphony Hall (Japan). During this experience she understands the importance of the balance between “full” and “empty” typical of Japanese art, fundamental in her art. In 2009 she gave a conference during the Led Lighting Symposium in the Architecture’s University in Kyoto.

The first experience into the porcelain world was in Milan during the XIII International Convention Azzurra (2014), where she received the Honorable Mention for the first work presented White Parrot Vase and again later, in 2016, with Colorful Butterfly Vase. Still in 2016 she write her book “Favole di Porcellane” published by Gangemi Editore. In 2017 and 2018 she participates to the Convention Italia Show in San Giorgio Canavese, Turin, in the role of juror. In 2019 she decides to participate to the competition, ranking third with the work The Sun and the Moon. In 2021 she created, for the Pallini SpA, the biggest in the world Limoncello’s Porcelain Bottle, 68 cm high and 5 liters capacity.

She is the inventor of the “Under Gold with Japanese Antique Gold” technique and she is called to give demonstrations and seminars all over Italy.
